Policies of the Journal
Open Access Policy
The Vertex Journal of Economic Sciences (VJES) is a fully open access journal, providing immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the full text of all published articles without charging any fees to readers or authors.
Readers have unrestricted rights to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all articles published in VJES.
This open access model is based on the principle that freely available research fosters a greater global exchange of knowledge in the field of economics and related disciplines.
Such accessibility also contributes to increased readership and higher citation rates of authors’ work.
We align our approach with the principles advocated by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), which has developed systems to advance scholarly quality and public dissemination of research by freely distributing software that supports open access publishing.

Conflict of Interest Policy
For Authors
Authors must affirm that:
They have no financial, commercial, legal, political, intellectual, or personal interests that could improperly influence their work.
There are no subjective relationships that might directly or indirectly affect or promote their submitted research.
For Reviewers
Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest (financial, personal, professional, political, or intellectual) to the Editor-in-Chief immediately.
They must not request citations of their own work to enhance personal metrics and must maintain strict confidentiality, refraining from discussing the manuscript with anyone except the journal editors.
For Editorial Board Members
Editors must avoid handling manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with authors, companies, or institutions. Such manuscripts will be reassigned to another editorial member.
Editors must not use unpublished work for personal research without the author’s prior written consent.
Full disclosure is required for all financial or grant support to avoid undue influence.
Editors should avoid simultaneous editorial board memberships that may create conflicts.
Submissions from Editorial Board Members
Editorial board members are encouraged to submit articles to VJES. However, such submissions will undergo the same independent peer review as all other manuscripts, with the submitting board member excluded from any editorial decisions on their paper.
Article Withdrawal Policy
Pre-Publication Withdrawal
Authors may request withdrawal within one week of submission, providing a valid and compelling reason.
Requests should include the article ID and complete manuscript details.
Post-Publication Withdrawal
Allowed only in exceptional circumstances, such as legal disputes or proven copyright/plagiarism issues.
To Avoid Withdrawal Issues
Authors should:
Secure consent from all co-authors before submission.
Discuss data interpretation and resolve any internal disagreements.
Ensure the article aligns with the journal’s scope.
Obtain all necessary institutional permissions and No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Perform a plagiarism check prior to submission.
Submit to one journal at a time, avoiding simultaneous submissions.
Confirm the final version of the manuscript and the agreed list of authors.
Be responsive to communications from the journal team.
Failure to reply to repeated journal reminders may result in automatic withdrawal or holding of the manuscript.
