Commitment to Ethical Publishing

Academic integrity is the foundation of all scholarly research and publishing. VJES adheres strictly to internationally recognized standards, guided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines, to ensure ethical conduct in all stages of publishing.

Ethical Expectations for Authors

1. No Plagiarism

  • Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable as per the guidelines of UGC Regulations. Manuscripts must be original and appropriately cite the work of others.

2. No Data Fabrication or Falsification

  • The submission of falsified data, manipulated results, or fabricated findings is a serious violation and will not be tolerated.

3. Proper Attribution

  • Authors must not use the ideas, data, or words of other researchers without proper acknowledgment and citation.

4. Consequences of Misconduct

  • Manuscripts found to be plagiarized—whether from published or unpublished work—will be rejected immediately.

  • Authors involved may face sanctions including blacklisting and notification of their institutions.

5. Declaration of Conflicts of Interest

  • Authors must clearly disclose any potential conflicts in the ‘Conflicts of Interest’ section, explaining why such interests could influence or appear to influence the research.

6. Authorship Integrity

  • Gift or guest authorship (listing authors who did not contribute to the work) is unethical and will not be permitted.

  • Ghost authorship or paid authorship (where someone writes or contributes significantly but is not acknowledged as an author) is strictly prohibited.
