MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
1. General Submission Requirements
All manuscripts must strictly conform to the latest APA Style Handbook.
The preferred word length is 3000–4000 words, inclusive of the abstract and Works Cited and Consulted.
Submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word format (Windows 7 or 10). PDF submissions are not accepted.
2. Format of the Manuscript
Title
Provide a full title (and subtitle if any) in Times New Roman, size 14, bold, using appropriate capitalization (avoid all caps except for proper usage).
Author’s Name & Affiliation
Clearly mention the author’s full name, institutional affiliation (complete official address), and email.
(e.g., Department, College, University, City, Country).
3. Abstract & Keywords
Include an abstract of 150–200 words with 5–6 keywords.
“Abstract” should be bold, size 12.
Structured Abstract
Please organize your abstract under the following sub-headings (max 200–300 words):
Aims:
Methodology and Approaches:
Outcome:
Conclusion and Suggestions:
Keywords:
Also provide your ORCID ID (generate at: https://orcid.org/register) as demonstrated in the sample paper.
4. Main Text & Formatting
Use Times New Roman, size 12, justified.
Ensure double-line spacing throughout the document.
Paragraphs: Indent first line by 5 spaces or ½ inch.
Headings, subheadings, and illustrations should be seamlessly incorporated into the text.
5. Works Cited and Consulted
Start on a new page with the heading ‘Works Cited and Consulted’ centered one inch from the top.
If citing only one source, use ‘Work Cited and Consulted’.
Align the first line of each entry to the left margin; subsequent lines should have a ½ inch hanging indent.
6. Tables & Figures
Present tables, figures, graphs, and diagrams professionally with appropriate titles and numbering, placed within the text or referenced in the Works Cited and Consulted.
7. Page Numbers & Citations
Insert page numbers at the upper right corner, ½ inch from the top.
In-text Citations
Use the author’s last name and page number in the text or in parentheses.
For quotations:
Up to three lines: Enclose within quotation marks, place period after the parenthesis.
More than three lines: Use a block quotation indented ½ inch, period before the parenthesis.
8. Language & Style
Ensure syntactic and grammatical correctness.
Follow British English conventions (e.g., ‘organisation’ vs ‘organization’).
Avoid mixing British and American spelling.
9. Plagiarism & Originality
Submissions must be plagiarism-free, duly acknowledging all sources.
Attach a plagiarism report (checked via Urkund, Turnitin, Viper, etc.) and a self-declaration:
“This is my original and plagiarism-free contribution and has not been published elsewhere.”
10. Editorial Policy & Peer Review
The editorial team reserves the sole right to accept, reject, or suggest modifications to manuscripts.
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure objectivity and scholarly merit.
11. Ethical & Inclusive Forum
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their intellectual merit, without regard to race, gender, caste, creed, religion, nationality, or political ideology.
12. Brief Bio Note
Include a short bio note with designation, achievements, email, and other relevant details.
Avoid embellishments like lines, borders, or special characters.
13. Additional Creative & Interdisciplinary Submissions
While VJES primarily focuses on economics, interdisciplinary papers exploring economic implications across literature, culture, or policy studies are welcome.
Fiction (up to 10,000 words) and poetry (20–50 lines) may be accepted if they offer profound socio-economic or philosophical insights.
